Mr. Edgar Odari
Mr. Edgar Odari is the Executive Director at Econews Africa.
Mr. Edgar Odari is the Executive Director at Econews Africa. He previously worked as a Programme Coordinator at Econews before taking this position. He is a lawyer specializing in trade, investment and extractives. He is also the co-chair and technical advisor to the Haki Madini Kenya Coalition, a civil society network in the mining sector. He previously worked for TRIDE-BAC Consulting, a trade and investment consulting group as well as the Southern and Eastern Africa Trade Information and Negotiations Institute (SEATINI) in its Kenyan office. He has previously consulted independently for several institutions including the Institute of Economic Affairs, the Norwegian Church Aid, the Kenya Human Rights Commission, Diakonia Kenya, Tata Chemicals Magadi and Caritas Kitui among others. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Moi University. He was part of the 2015 cohort of the Emerging Leaders in African Mining (ELAM) training by the University of Western Australia and the University of Queensland in collaboration with the African Minerals Development Centre (AMDC) of the African Union.
