Mr. Bernard Ochieng is a governance, policy and community development practitioner working as a Programme Coordinator and the Officer in charge of Extractives and Development at Econews Africa.

Mr. Bernard Ochieng is a governance, policy and community development practitioner working as a Programme Coordinator and the Officer in charge of Extractives and Development at Econews Africa. He has six years of continuous practice in building communities based on justice and mutual respect and influencing relationships between ordinary people and those in positions of power. Bernard has previously worked for Caritas Kitui under the Catholic Diocese of Kitui as a Coordinator in the Governance and Human Rights Programme specifically focusing on implementing the extractive governance work, policy advocacy, building citizen oversight, community organizing and capacity building at county and national level. He holds Bachelor of Arts degree in Development Studies and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy and Administration. He is also a writer and editor with the Basilican Magazine since 2015.
