Econews Africa, in collaboration with the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) and with
funding from SIDA, is implementing a project to strengthen the application of human rights in
trade and investment processes in Kenya. As part of this initiative, a Human Rights Impact
Assessment (HRIA) of the Kenya–United Arab Emirates (UAE) Comprehensive Economic
Partnership Agreement (CEPA) will be undertaken to evaluate the agreement’s implications on
human rights, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized populations.
